        – In 2011, 181,730 women obtained abortions in California, producing a rate of 23 abortions per 1,000 women of reproductive age.         – In 2011, there were 512 abortion providers in California; 160 of those were clinics. This represents a 2% decline in overall providers and a a 5% decline in clinics from 2008, when there were 522 abortion providers overall, of which 169 were abortion c

        – California does not have any of the major types of abortion restrictions—such as waiting periods, mandated parental involvement or limitations on publicly funded abortions—often found in other states.

In California, we are seeing a slow decline in the number of women seeking abortions and the number of clinics in operation, but we have seen no real strides or progress in the political realm. Although abortion clinics and abortion services remain politically unhindered and unobstructed in this state, less women are choosing to surrender their children to the abortionists forceps. Why is this?

It can ONLY be because of a revival of moral discourse in our communities.

More and more godly men and women are making it impossible to ignore and impossible to trivialize the horror of abortion.

In our community, groups like Right to Life of Central California and Tulare / King Right to Life are educating and equipping a new generation of sidewalk counselors and pro-life warriors for the battlefront in this fight for life. And special events group, like 40 Days for Life Fresno, are bringing fresh faces onto the streets and sidewalks outside abortion clinics to stand in the gap for life.

Likewise, The Abolitionist Society of Fresno, Tulare and Kings is currently seeking to network with Christ-centered churches in the community to take a stand for life year-round on the sidewalks outside our local killing centers and protect the unborn being ruthlessly slaughtered in our own back yards.

The fact is, when men and women of God stand in the gap and intercede for innocent children, innocent lives ARE saved. Even the enemy knows and acknowledges that fact. More powerful than laws, regulations and state mandated gag orders is simple obedience to the Lord in speaking the truth in love.

Planned Parenthood’s Insider calls community outreach – especially on sidewalks and college campuses – “the most challenging concept” and predicts that it “could have a profound impact on Planned Parenthood’s education and advocacy efforts.”

To see a revival for life in the Central Valley, all we have to do is shine a little light into the darkness. Are you ready to take a stand?
