Who Are We?

The Abolitionists Society of Fresno, Tulare, and Kings County is a Christ centered, Gospel driven ministry that was established in 2013. Our motivation is simple; we love God and our neighbors.  Love is active, therefore this ministry is active as well.

We are made up of different church members, correctable by our own church bodies.   The Spirit of God is opening our eyes to the Scriptural teaching regarding how we are to love our neighbors (born and unborn) as ourselves and bring the Gospel into conflict with this culture of death. Every individual is responsible before God to walk worthy. We are to obey all that the Scripture commands, and that is the heart of the abolitionist. (And no, before anyone asks, we don’t think we are justified partly by works. We think good works proceed from the regenerate heart – Titus 2:11-14.)

In the most basic sense, abolitionism is an expression of Christian brotherly love for unborn people, whose most basic human rights are being trampled upon. We believe the appropriate response to the evil of abortion is to replace the culture that views abortion as acceptable with a culture that abhors it. This can only be accomplished through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We take seriously Jesus’ command to love our neighbors and we have no desire to be the Pharisee or Levite in Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10).

Abolitionists Society of Fresno/Tulare/Kings is not formally governed or directed by Abolish Human Abortion (AHA). Abolition is an ideology that is derived from Scripture. This ideology is put into practice in specific localities by members of local churches.

Why Do We Exist?

The ministry was started primarily for the neglected and abandoned unborn babies that are ruthlessly murdered, poisoned, and torn to pieces inside their mother’s womb.  We love these children and we want to adopt them, find them homes, protect them, and save them.

“Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him.”

Psalms 127:3

We also love the parents of these children, who are deceived thinking that killing their child by abortion is an option.  Murder is never an option.  God has given a clear command not to murder and He does not bend His commands to fit our preferences and opinions.

“You must not murder.”

Exodus 20:13.

Here it should be clarified that there is a difference between killing and murder.  Murder is defined as, the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.  Although abortion may currently be legal as slavery once was in our nation there is a higher authority than our government on this issue.  The Supreme law giver has already spoken on the legality of abortion.

God made it clear that a life for life should be enforced if a person killed a baby.

“When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.”

Exodus 21:22-25.

The brutal killing of Laci Peterson and her unborn son Conner in 2002, brought the conviction of two counts of 1st degree murder on her husband Scott Peterson, who is currently on death row.   God has wrote His laws on all our hearts, and capital punishment for two counts of 1st degree murder was the correct response for this crime.

“If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image.”

Genesis 9:6

We are all made in God’s image and because of that all life is valuable and every person has a right to life.   We love the parents thinking abortion is an option enough to warn them, enough to be honest with them and not lie to them.   Abortion will kill their child and leave them with a lifetime of regret,  they will still be the parents of the dead child, who is the real victim in this.

We also love the clinic workers, enough to pray for them, help them find new jobs,  and enough to warn them of God’s truth.

‘Cursed is anyone who accepts payment to kill an innocent person.

Deuteronomy 27:25

It would be unloving to not warn a blind man walking towards a cliff so we do speak up out of love and concern when opportunities present themselves and this is intentional because we believe the Scriptures, which is the authority on this.  (Ezekiel 3:17-19)
